Why outsource social media?

outsourcingcompanies

More times than not, business will ask us, “why should we outsource all of our social media to your company?”  While that is a valid question, there are multiple reasons why.

First off, most of the companies we deal with have little to no social media presence at all.  Some have created a Facebook and Twitter page, but have really done nothing outside of that.  Which leads us to our first reason you should outsource your social media efforts.

1) No one at your company can, or will do it.

Social media did not just get popular over night.  Many businesses have been capitalizing off of the opportunities social media gives them for multiple years.  With that said, somebody in your company would have probably already brought up the idea of expanding your company’s social media presence if they knew it would help the business.

Even if there is somebody who qualifies to launch your social media campaign, do they have the time or commitment to add a completely different task to their work?  Usually that answer is no.

2) It is not necessary to have somebody in-house

Think about it.  While social media is a very important marketing technique, do you want to hire somebody to sit in your office all day working on your social media campaign?  While social media campaigns consume a lot of time, they are not something that only needs to be monitored from 9-5.  Effectively monitoring your networks is something that has to be done at all hours, so keeping somebody in-house would be a waste of time and money, especially if they are paid on an hourly basis.

3) It is less expensive to outsource

As it was mentioned above, you have to monitor social networking feeds at all hours.  With that said, it is not always necessary to be staring at a computer screen for 24 hours, we would all go mad if that were the case.  However, there are effective techniques and alerts that Gen.Y Consulting has to make sure we are on top of your feeds when somebody interacts.  It would be a waste of your company’s money to hire somebody at $40,000 a year, when outsourcing will save you 10′s of thousands of dollars with a better product produced as well!

So if your company is trying to decide between outsourcing, or keeping somebody in-house, give Gen.Y Consulting a call, and we can help you make the right decision!
